One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Regensburg, Germany. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Bavarian symbols.
It may look just like any purple plum, but this variety of damson will appear in all shops, markets and fruit stalls in August. For me, a very difficult word to pronounce! Not only can you buy the fresh fruit easily in Bavaria, but also easy to find are delicious tarts, cakes, slices and other treats made from Zwetschgen. It cannot be missed in summer - and if you are lucky enough to have friends with trees you will no doubt receive a delivery of your own.
