One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Kobe, Japan. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Japanese symbols.
On a recent trip to Japan, I was given a beautiful box of freeze dried miso soup powders, each portion being held within a rice paper shell. These shells took the form of circles, maple leaves and squares. The gift also came with a hand-drawn diagram of how to prepare the soup. Placing the rice paper shell in a miso soup bowl, pouring over boiling hot water from the kettle and watching the contents plump up and create a delicious and light lunch. Thank you Mayumi, Naomi, Manami and Keiko.
