peachy scent kinmokusei  greetings card

One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Kobe, Japan. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Japanese symbols.

Towards the end of the hot and humid summer, perhaps mid-September time, comes a wonderful break in the weather. For two weeks it is possible to throw open the window and welcome a fresh breeze into the house. Riding on the refreshing breeze comes the most beautiful peachy scent of the kinmokusei blooms. We were so lucky to have one of these wonderful plants right next to our back door. Every time I stepped in and out or worked in the laundry room, I was treated to this delicious scent.
