One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Kobe, Japan. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Japanese symbols.
It is said that the hydrangea or ajisai in Japanese, was born in Japan. My time in the country let me see that the blooming of this beautiful flower during rainy season, June and July, is just as symbolic as ume plum in late winter and sakura cherry in spring. Parks, shrines and temples proudly display these pink, mauve, blue and white shrubs for all to enjoy.
