One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Kobe, Japan. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Japanese symbols.
Wisteria, with it’s floral and delicate blooms, is native to Japan and flowers at a similar time to sakura. It’s beauty has always been captured in classical poetry and art. Named fuji in Japanese, Wisteria’s purple colouring is closely associated with the Buddhist faith and a sense of comfort. Many parks across Japan showcase their Wisteria in April and May, often in the form of long and low tunnels to display the cascading blooms.
