One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Regensburg, Germany. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Bavarian symbols.
With the alternative names of groundcherry or cape gooseberry, the physalis is something that before living in Regensburg, was really just a decorative dried flower for me! I remember my Nanny had a branch of them paused in time and displayed in a pretty vase. After eating out with friends in Regensburg and surrounding areas, I now know this intriguing plant and fruit in more detail. They are regularly used fresh to decorate fruit salads, slices of torte or bowls of muesli and very easy to buy as dried for a tasty snack. Who knew!
