One in a series of greetings cards designed by Caroline using inspiration from time spent living in Regensburg, Germany. Taken from artwork created with hand carved stamps of iconic Bavarian symbols.
Hagebutten, or rosehips, are also very prevelant in the UK. They appear in late summer and stay on the bush right through winter, when almost everything else has little colour. When they are new, they are shiny appear to be bursting with goodness. When I moved to Bavaria, I realised how famous these pretty berries are for use in medicines. In the shops are many teas, tablets and tinctures containing rosehip, claiming to boost vitamin levels, aid weight loss and prevent skin aging. As winter approaches, it looks like the rosehip has a lot to offer us.
